Drake Troutman was one of 55 Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series (LOLMDS) entries on hand at Port Royal Speedway (Port Royal, Pa.) on Thursday afternoon for the three-day Rumble by the River. After sitting out a weather delay, Troutman was involved in a tangle in his heat race that forced him pitside. Needing a second place finish or better in his B-Main to make the opening night feature, Drake pulled off on the fifth lap.
After persistent rain and unfavorable forecast wiped out Friday night’s event, Troutman returned to the half-mile oval on Saturday only competing with the Mid Atlantic Modified Series. Starting the night off with a heat race victory, Drake earned the fourth-starting position for the $1,500-to-win A-Main. Losing one spot, Troutman notched a fifth place finish behind Ryan Ayers, Ron Davies, Ty Rhoads, and Carl McKinney.
On Sunday afternoon at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex (Markleysburg, Pa.) in the Modified ranks, Drake landed a runner-up finish in the main event.
