Drake Troutman rules Roaring Knob field in Modified
Drake Troutman brought his Smith Transport No. 7 RFI Resources/ MB Customs Modified to Victory Lane for the fourth time this season Sunday.
Troutman wired the field at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in Markleysburg, Pa. for his seventh overall win of the season. Drake’s four Modified wins this season have all been at the 3/8-mile Pennsylvania oval.
“It was another great weekend. We’ve had a lot of success with the Modified at Roaring Knob this year,” Troutman said. “Thank you to LaSalle’s Engine & Chassis for their great motors and dedication to my program! Mars Race Cars and CMD Race Shocks for their great cars! We’ve got a busy schedule coming up next week and I’m really looking forward to it.”
Friday night found Drake Troutman in action at Lernerville Speedway (Sarver, Pa.), competing in a field of 20 Super Late Models. Dropping two spots in his heat race to finish fourth, Troutman locked into the eighth-starting position for the opening night feature.
Wheeling his way into a podium spot, Drake passed five cars to place third behind Jared Miley and Russ King with Mike Miller and Tyler Dietz completing the Top-5 finishers.
On Saturday afternoon at Latrobe Speedway (Latrobe, Pa.) for a $3,000 top prize, Drake followed up the third fastest lap overall in time trials with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Mike Pegher Jr.
Pulling the sixth-starting position for the A-Main, Troutman jumped up two spots to register a fourth place finish behind Mike Pegher Jr., Matt Lux, and Dan Angelicchio with Charlie Powell coming in fifth.
The following night at Roaring Knob Motorsports Complex in the Modified ranks, Drake ran away with his eighth win of the season in the feature.
