Drake Troutman tallies two-win Memorial Day weekend

Drake Troutman visited Victory Lane twice over the holiday weekend. He was triumphant in both the Legend Car and Modified ranks.

Troutman found the Winner’s Circle in Legend Car competition on Friday evening at North Carolina’s Fayetteville Motor Speedway and then again on Saturday evening in Modified action at 311 Motor Speedway in his Smith Transport / RFI Resources No. 7 MB Customs Race Car / Lasalle Racing Engine Modified.

The pair of triumphs brought his season-win tally to lucky No. 13.

“It was a decent weekend for our team. The two wins were obviously nice, but we battled some mechanical and handling issues throughout the weekend as well, and then the rain added another level of complication,” Troutman said. “The good news is that we are still leading the Renegades of Dirt Modified Tour standings. We’ll head to Kentucky this weekend and look for more wins and to add to the point’s lead. Thank you to all of my sponsors, fans, and hardworking crew.”

Drake Troutman lifted the lid on his Memorial Day weekend by traveling to Fayetteville Motor Speedway (Fayetteville, N.C.) on Friday afternoon for the Renegades of Dirt doubleheader. Pulling double duty in his RFI Resources No. 7 Modified and the Three Sixteen Motorsports No. 317 Legend, Drake locked his spot into the Modified feature with the fifth fastest qualifying lap. Running into trouble early, Troutman retired on the fourth lap with mechanical issues.

After picking up a heat race win in the No. 317 Legend Car, Troutman marched to his 12th win of the season in the feature over Landen Lewis, Tristen Stephenson, Ryan Shabram, and Daniel Adam.

With Saturday’s $4,000-to-win finale nixed by Mother Nature, Drake headed to 311 Motor Speedway (Pine Hall, N.C.) on Sunday to compete in the UMP Modified ranks. After topping the speed charts in time trials, Troutman cruised to his 13th win of the season in the 15-lap feature. He finished ahead of Ryan Rackley, Slade Parsons, and Ryan Toole.

On Monday at Bedford Speedway (Bedford, Pa.) for the Turk Burket 88 Tribute, Troutman scored a 10th-place finish in the $4,000-to-win Late Model feature.
