13th-place outing in Knoxville Nationals with Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series
Kicking off a busy stretch of competition with the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series, Drake Troutman rolled into Knoxville (Iowa) Raceway on Thursday afternoon for the first of two preliminary nights.
With 40 Late Models on hand for the Knoxville Nationals, Troutman recorded a pair of 17th-place finishes in the two $7,000-to-win preliminary features and earned a spot in the $50,000-to-win main event on Saturday.
In the 75-lap finale, Troutman started 22nd and made up nine positions to finish 13th.
Troutman continues to lead the Rookie of the Year point standings with the series.
