14th-place finish in Illini 100 prelim at Farmer City Raceway
Back competing in the Super Late Model ranks, Drake Troutman traveled to Farmer City Raceway (Farmer City, Ill.) on Friday night for the annual Illini 100 weekend.
Against a stacked field of 44 World of Outlaws Case Late Model Series entries, Troutman timed in second-fastest in his group before placing first in his heat. Starting the preliminary in fourth via redraw, Drake ran in the top-five for the first 30 laps but couldn’t overcome tire wear after a late caution and faded to 14th.
On Saturday, Drake’s bid for the $20,000-to-win Illini 100 ended in his B-Main after getting behind the eight-ball in qualifying.
